"The only staff that I found friendly were the cleaning people. Front desk staff did not extend a very warm welcome or good-bye. My 16 year old daughter was with me and she also noticed the unpleasant atmosphere of this hotel. I would not stay here again."

"The staff were quite friendly and the hospitality was nice. The free shuttle to and from the airport is very convenient, although you can certainly stay at hotels closer to the main part of the city. It is, however, located near a shopping mall."

"1. The hallways have multiple holes in the ceiling cut for some purpose but left open. Looks unsightly.
2. Security doors were constantly left unlatched. Not necesssarily on purpose but they don't close properly.
3. Elevator inspection expired in November 2004
4. Two wooden steps at the bottom of the side entrance are extremely slippery when wet. I slipped once but didn't fall, and caught myself sliding later while bringing luggage to the car.
5. When I made the reservations over the phone, I explained that I was coming in at 2:38am and may not get a car. I was assured by the reservation service there was a shuttle to deliver me to the hotel. They even listed it on the bottom of my reservation as a special request. When I called from the airport, I was informed there was no shuttle after 11:00pm. That's an observation the reservation company should be made aware of. The hotel is a $30 cab ride from the airport. Not exactly what I would recommend as a quick overnight stay close to the airport.."

"The AC was noisy and delivered marginally. Restaurant was very good, particularly breakfast. All the stairs are a minor bother. On the whole the hotel is fine and a good bargain."

"Yes. The hotel was fine but the dining was terrible. I ordered some coffe and it was cold. I ordered some pork chops and I have seen thicker bacon and this meal was cold after waiting over half an hour. So. stay at the hotel. but stay away from dining there. I call get better and hotter food at MacDonalds"

"check in staff were adequate but excellent service and kindness from the room cleaning staff restaurant staff also good
the hotel needs ramp so that luggage does not have to be carried up and down 3 flights of steps before reaching the elevator
it is not convenient to anything for those without a car
the bed was very comfortable and the room itself pleasant and clean
free internet access was much appreciated"

"The hotel is undergoing renovations! Our first impressions were thus quite low until we saw the room - it was very comfortable and the kitchenette a great addition. The bar and lounger were fine although the food (appetizer) represented poor value, this may be due to my particular choice - the music choice in the background was good and at an appropriate sound level. The hotel entrance is unique and looks Asian in style which makes it stand out from more bland McDonald style franchise hotels."

"Hotel is under new ownership - which is a hopeful sign - everything could be improved from the dingy rooms and lack of internet service to the poor front desk service and the lacklustre meals ... let's wish the new owners success with their changes (Sept.04)"

"The Hotel is old and definately needs some work. However it was clean and the staff were great. If you are travelling on a budget and wna a kitchenette this will do. There was not Air Conditioning, however most of the time you do not need it in St. John's. May not be for some, but those on a budget will like it."
