"Clean, tidy, inexpensive. Lovely corner room, kingsize bed. Close to Toronto airport. Close to restaurants. Good value."

"Asked for non smoking, the room had a symble on the door but that was it. The room was so full of stale smoke you could not breathe properly. The bed linen smelled as though it was dipped in smoky water and dryed then put on the bed."

"The customer service from the time we arrived was poor. First we were given an incorrect room, and when we went to complain- they told me that my room was not guarenteed- even though the room was paid in full before arrival, and I had a confirmation of the room with me. Finally I was told I could have the room that was booked- but a smoking room- this was after they had already told me there were none of these rooms available. Upon checkout they tried to charge my credit card the full amount of the room again. Again I had to get my reciept and confirmation out. Then they argued about how much I had paid canadianhotelguide.com, and that the amount I paid them was insufficient for that particular room. All in all, they didn't even know who canadianhotelguide.com was, and were very upset that we got that room for that price. We will not be staying at that hotel again!!"

"Having checked in at midnight, they missed my wakeup call at 6:30 and I slept through my plane take of time. They did not seem too concerned about it, mind you I was in a rush to get the airport to find another plane and they did not help get me there quickly either - telling me the shuttle will be along shortly etc.
It supposed to be a business hotel being near the airport?"

"We enjoyed ou stay at th Best Western but it was irritating that the room key card was only programmed for one day at a time. Other hotels supply keys that do not need to be taken back to reception in the afternoon.
Disappointed that I was not given a breakdown of the account although I asked. Being from abroad I can reclaim some tax but not if I do not have a receipt. Was told that because I booked via the internet I cannot be given one."

"Transportation from the Airport was very unreliable. We waited almost an hour for pick up. Shuttle arrived (a van-type vehicle) and didn't have enough room for us and asked us to wait another half and hour and they would come back. We ended up wasting an hour and in the end took a cab at a cost of $24, which we should not have have to pay since shuttle service was complimentary. However, the shuttle in the morning was prompt, professional and a proper shuttle. Had no problems at all with that one. The room was ok since we were only staying for 5 hours until we went back to the airport again."

"The staff were not friendly and I thought the hotel was very un professionally run. Movies in the hotel were very expensive, $10.99 per movie for a single viewing. I had to ask for fridge to be put into the room."

"When we got to the hotel we were put on a smoking floor when we requested a non-smoking floor. The staff was appologetic and did give us a new room. The hotel was situated near some sort of night club which played very loud music until well after 2am which made it difficult to fall and stay asleep. Although the hotel was very nice, the amenities were excellent, and the service was good, it was not a very good nights sleep."

"The restaurant was staffed poorly during breakfast on Dec. 12. The computer system was down and the waiter was rushing around trying to get everyones order with pen and paper in hand. Just about every table was full, and this one waiter could not handle the work. My table was left dirty from the previous people that sat at it. The dishes were not cleared, nor was my table wiped off (I found this very unsanitary), as was the same for many of the other tables. I waited nearly 30 minutes just to have my order taken. The waiter did not have time to come around refilling coffee, nevermind take your order. Good thing I left myself plenty of time to eat and get to the airport. 4 men sitting next to my table had to obtain their cutlery from other tables (that's if there was any clean cutlery present on the table). Overall, the whole restaurant experience on the morning of Dec. 12 was not a pretty site to see (no organisation at all)!"
