"1-Despite hanging a 'do not disturb' sign on the door we were disturbed by the chamber maids knocking on our door three times on one morning. When we asked them not to disturb us we then received a telephone call from reception asking us when we would be leaving so that they could clean the room-suffice to say-they did not clean the room that day-even though we let reception know when we were leaving. For those of you hoping to get a well-earned rest on your weekend-you won't get it at this hotel!
2-We are very familiar with the Ibis chain-having stayed at branches throughout Europe, and recognise that the setup is very basic but comfortable and very good value for money. On this occasion this was not the case.Having booked a rate without breakfast, I was happy on arrival to be 'given' breakfast vouchers-BEWARE-regardless of the message implied by the reception staff-THESE ARE NOT FREE OF CHARGE-we were charged for breakfast all three days (we ate on two).With this in mind-this hotel is not value for money-and indeed I will query staying at the Ibis chain again.
Nevertheless-Lille is wonderful-and thankfully the shortcomings of this hotel did not ruin our stay!"
