"My experiece was first class all round
I was going to the Airport and the bus does not pass the door but is only 400m away and I was told how to find it OK
I cannot comment on the locaation for attractions , shopping etc but it is only a short taxi ride from the railway station and is in central Bergen so should be fine. I would certainly use it again.

Scandic Bergen City 
Scandic Bergen City is situated in the middle of town, with shops, theatres and other major attractions all close at hand. We have 252 rooms, all with WC and shower or bath, telephone, TV with Scandic Film Show, and minibar. Meals are served in our ground floor restaurant Amalie, or you can just relax with a drink in the Fidell bar. Our conference centre is one of the largest in Bergen, with meeting facilities for up to 600 people. The airport bus pick-up point is only five minutes? walk from the hotel.
