Hotel Metropole opened its doors in 1917 and is today often described as the city Boutique Hotel. Completely renovated in 1993, the Almeida family as taken great pains to maintain all of the M?tropoles original glorious features and flair of the Golden Twenties, replete with all modern conveniences and traditional Portuguese antiques. It is located in Rossio Square, within walking distance of the D Maria National Theater, and approximately five miles south Lisbon International Airport. This location is also within walking distance of archaeological museum, Santa Justa Lift, Sao Carlos Opera, Lisbon Coliseum, and Rossio metro station. Hotel amenities include the fitness room and restaurant (breakfast only). The hotel also offers room service, laundry facilities, currency exchange, babysitting, and a concierge desk. All rooms feature satellite TV, minibars, hairdryers, and air-conditioning.
