Visit the Botanical Gardens with more than 12,000 species of plants, an oasis in the heart of the city. From here you can walk on to Haga, the oldest part of Gothenburg, where you can find a number of interesting shops including antique dealers and restaurants. Take a trip in our beautiful archipelago, visit the well-known Vinga Lighthouse, about an hours boat trip from Gothenburg. Or why not a guided tour with the Paddan boats that lasts about an hour. Learn something about Gothenburg, past and present. And in the evening you must not miss Liseberg Gardens and its amusement park with the fantastic attractions, the magnificent flower beds, and Sweden's most popular artistes performing on the stage. At Terra Nova they are building a full scale replica of the East-Indiaman "Gothenburg". The plan is to sail this ship to China one day, but until then, take the opportunity to follow the work and listen to the stories from these bygone times. Take a relaxing trip away from the city to Gunnebo Palace which has a long history from the 18th century. Surrounded by a beautiful park and a fantastic herbaceous garden. The Gothenburg museums are also well worth a visit, such as the Röhsska Museum, the only museum for art handicrafts in Sweden.
