Anonymous guest from Santa Rosa, CA US stayed on August 22, 2004
"We chose the Pacific Euro mostly because it would be walking-distance to our downtown Redwood City Workshop.
This hotel apparently doubles as a short to long stay residential hotel. This was not mentioned on their website.
We were kept awake through the night by people knocking, pounding, pleading at adjacent doors seeking crack and/or other drugs. Lots of "partying" and apparent desperation(from the tone of voice).
Loud gangsta rap in an adjacent room with sing-alongs at 2 AM were not appreciated by us.
It was quite obvious that our door had been kicked-in at some previous time as the door jamb was reassembled and nailed back into place.
We returned to our room to find a window screen on the floor; coincidence? Don't see how someone could get in as we were on the 2nd floor, though the adjacent room's window opened against it.
The card-lock doors were hard to get through, and we needed our card to get OUT into the lobby.
Various non-communicative "residents" were prowling/hanging-out in the halls looking for opportunity. We acknowledged them and said "Hi" and got a blank stare and no response; unsettling. One guy took special interest in our musical instruments cases; something tells me his interests were not musical.
Our phone would ring through the night; looking for someone who was no longer residing there.
Needless to say, we didn't feel terribly safe here.
Rooms were clean enough.
Rooms are small, but comfortable. Bath area clean and bright.
There was a broken power adapter on the hair dryer which left exposed AC terminals just above the sink; kind of dangerous.
We saw no evidence of the mentioned continental breakfast when we left at about 7:30.
Need I say we don't recommend this place; go to a youth hostel, or for that matter, go sleep in the park!"
Recommends the hotel
to others? No
