"We had a great stay at the Country Inns and Suites in Effingham, Illinois. The hotel common areas were well appointed, and our room was great. The expanded continental breakfast was also very nice.
The hotel accidentially booked us in a queen suite, which was more expensive than the standard queen room that we selected online, which we discovered when they gave us the bill. When I showed them the rate we were quoted and had confirmed from freehotelsearch.com, they lowered our rate to the standard queen rate. I really appreciated that since due to some MAJOR traffic issues, we didn't arrive at the hotel until about 1:45 a.m. My wife and I were traveling with our 6 year old and our 10 month old sons, so not having a hassle about the room and the rate at this late hour was great. The staff handled the situation promptly, courteously, and professionally. I would recommend the Effingham Country Inns and Suites to anyone. If the rest of the hotels in the chain handle things as well as the staff in Effingham, then they have their customer service delivery down pat!
