Caroline from Torquay, GB stayed on February 21, 2004
"The room we had was cold, there was no heating (that I ever noticed or felt)and this was February. The lights and thick curtains kept the room a barable temperture. The old windows let in a terrible draft we kept the curtains closed. Room was dark anyway, as the window looked out onto an alley. There was a constant humming noise coming from what sounded like a generator outside. The room was small but bareable.
Room and beds were clean, the maid service was good. TV and radio worked. Bathroom was nice. Location is excellent."

John from Marblehead, MA US stayed on November 29, 2003
"A queen-sized bed virtually filled our room and the bathroom needed updating.
The hotel elevators are few (i.e., 4 each for the top half and bottom half of the hotel), small, and slow, which resulted in extremely long waits - especially at peak periods (e.g., before and after Broadway shows, in the morning during checkout). After waiting >10 minutes for room in a "down" elevator and encountering 5 full elevators (i.e., an average of one down elevator every 2 minutes), I wound up taking an "up" elevator to make sure I had a space on a "down" elevator. This might be typical for mid-town Manhattan, but I have not encountered similar problems at similar size hotels in major cities around the world.
The hotel was fine for a one-night stay. The next time I go to NYC I will try a different hotel."

"The rooms are very clean (some are even roomy), the service is good, and the location is unbeatable for theater-goers. This is a large hotel, so for check-in and baggage storage services there is sometimes a line."
