"We arrived at this hotel expecting 2 rooms attached on the lower level. At first we got neither. We were told that they did not have any attached roomsand the only rooms available were on the 2nd floor. After carrying our 46 pound 15 year old dog up the flight of stairs we entered a room that smelled of smoke. My husband called the front desk to be assured that it was not a smoking room. We noticed that both the rooms had attaching doors to other rooms. After a second call to the front desk, we received the key to one of the other rooms and sure enough the rooms were attached and both doors opened. We finally had attached rooms. Somewhere in the middle of all of this we noticed that the fire alarm in one of the rooms kept chirping at us. A phone call assured us that someone was on the way. We waited and finally decided we had to get dinner so that the kids would have time to swim in the pool. After all, this is why we stopped around 4:00p.m. We informed the front desk that we were going out and that it was alright to enter the room when we were gone. On the way to the pool we all noticed that they stairways smelled of urine much like a subway. Could there be homeless people sleeping in the stairways at night? After all the security locks leading into the building didn't work at all. Anyone could get in. When we got back the alarm was still chirping. Another phone call said that they had already fixed it and would come back to check on it again. After a while my husband found to workers in the room next door. They had been in the wrong room to fix it, but eventually it was fixed. The next morning while checking the room for our belongings we found a dirty ashtray with Super 8 matches in it right there on the counter as if the cleaning lady had left it there for the next visitors. We found somebody elses shoe, a pack of gum and dirty Q-tips amongst other scum under the beds. When we checked out they had no way of printing out a receipt for us. I'm hoping to actually get it in the mail as they promised."
