"The hotel was very CLEAN and basically smoke free and that is a must for me. It just is very old and so doesn't have a "fresh" & modern appearance. (The sheets on my bed were mauve & worn looking- you don't see that too often.) For the amount of money spent, I've stayed in much nicer hotels than this. But from what I understand this is about as nice as you are going to get in Oshkosh, (I heard that there's only one other comparable hotel in the city-The Hilton. I really didn't care what my room was like though, because I was there for a convention and spent most of my time in meetings."

"This hotel has several maintenance issues that need to be addressed before I could recommend it. The pool was exceptionally cold -- even kids did not want to stay in it for more than a minute or two, which leads to the next two problems: the whirlpool/hot tub was lukewarm at best, and overcrowded with kids who didn't want to swim in the pool, mostly unattended. Kudos to management for making the pool area adults-only after 10PM, but this was not enforced at all, making the policy moot. Management promised maintenance would address the cold temps, but we did not notice any change. Other issues worth mentioning: significantly peeling wallpaper in the room, and the tub did not drain properly, meaning showers were spent standing in a couple inches of water. This was in a club-level room, so I can only imagine the condition of the rest of the rooms. Positives: check-in was quick and easy, hallways and lobbies were clean and well-maintained, and the guest room had a decent amount of little niceties (hairdryer, iron/ironing board, coffee, etc). With an investment and emphasis on maintenance and quality control, there is much potential, but as it stands, I could not recommend Park Plaza Oshkosh."
